American Women of Sydney (AWS)

"I am still determined to be cheerful and happy, in whatever situation I may be; for I have also learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances."
- Martha Washington

The American Women of Sydney (AWS) is a voluntary organization of international women. It was founded in 1984 as a non-profit, non-political organization focused on friendship and service. Since the merger with AMSOC, the AWS operates as a part of AMSOC. AWS/AMSOC provides insight into Australian culture for it's members through the following activities: a monthly meeting, holiday parties, “P.A.L.S.” (Permanent American Ladies of Sydney), Golf, Tennis, Crafts & Laughs, Moms and Tots, Book Club, Walking Tours, Dinner Club and Area Coffee get-togethers.

"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which as been opened for us."
- Helen Adams Keller
